GLG offers a comprehensive custom fitting- online or in person!
If you’re here, I’m betting there’s a good chance you haven’t been fitted for golf clubs. As in, ever. Why would you, right?
That’s OK, because you can now! And you should!

You might be wondering: “why do I need to be fitted for golf clubs”? Fair enough. While some things may not need to be fitted to a “T”, it’s a good idea to at least be in the ballpark.
When it comes to golf clubs, some specs, like lie angle, are something that shouldn’t be compromised.
I say this many times, but a fitting- especially custom club fitting online- isn’t a “magic bullet”. It doesn’t guarantee anything. It puts you in a good starting point… the rest is up to you.
Think about it: all the top pros have access to all the latest gear- some never to see store shelves. They have people that work for their sponsors that can swap out any shaft, any grip, change swing weights, do whatever they want, and they still botch shots. Sometimes, anyway- that’s why they’re professionals!
What custom club fitting does do is, it puts you in a better starting position to make your best effort on the ball, with the confidence knowing the clubs you hold were built specifically for you.
Think about these:
- Would you wear an outfit three sizes too small?
- Would you run a 5k marathon in hiking boots two sizes too big?
- Maybe try to hit a baseball with a bat too long and too heavy?
All the while saying “I’ll make do” or “I’ll just have to get used to them”?
No, you wouldn’t. So why not do yourself a favor and get custom-fitted?
And you shouldn’t. Golf clubs can be expensive (or not so expensive), but whatever you decide is the right price for you, you owe it to yourself to get them fitted.
There’s no real empirical data that says a custom club fitting- be it online or otherwise- will boost your game a given amount.
Remember, everyone’s different. There can’t be any true promises.
What I mean is, if you get fitted for clubs, I’m not going to say “GET TEN MORE YARDS!!!!”. I can’t predict what’s going to happen; no one can, really.
What can be predicted, though, is an improvement. Better ball-striking. More impacts on the “sweet spot”, with a squarer club face.
Ingredients that will help you improve, but how much is up to you and how poorly your current sticks are matched to your swing and body type.
Please note, I won’t recommend models of clubheads unless you specifically ask.
I’ve never seen a true difference, and you can look here, here and here for some proof. It’s mostly about the specs, which I will recommend… the rest is personal preference and/or budget constraints. I will do my best to recommend multiple shaft and grip options so, depending on your budget, you can find one that not only works but won’t upset your wallet.
PS: if I recommend a face angle (open, closed, etc.) and you want to buy an adjustable-hosel wood/hybrid, disregard it. If you want a specific loft, with an adjustable-hosel driver the majority need the face to be held square to the target in order for that loft to be enacted.
In a nutshell, that eliminates face angle as a fitting option.
