What’s In My Bag?

I just realized I’ve never done a “what’s in my bag?” article.  Well, today I’m going to rectify that.  Behold!

My whole bag:

GLG's bag

Notice the Yoda and Chewbacca headcovers!  Love those.  The Yoda’s on the three wood, Chewie’s on the driver.  It’s metaphorical, as well: Chewbacca for big drives (well, hopefully big drives) and Yoda for when I need a smarter play (well… the intent is for a smarter play).

The Driver:

It’s the Cobra Bio Cell set to 10.5*, with an Integra iDrive Tour 3.5 shaft (S-flex) and Lamkin Ace 3Gen 360 grip.  Matter of fact, all my grips are the Ace 3Gen.

As an aside, I highly recommend this shaft if you’re one of those fairly aggressive swingers with a late release.  For me, it’s a nice feel, with a mid launch… and it’s only $12!  Buy it here!

Three Wood:

Ping i15S2S Black 85

It’s a PING i15, with a Wishon Golf S2S Black 85g shaft.  Another stout shaft.  I like my shafts fairly heavy.  Love the S2S Black.  Unfortunately, you have to be a member of Wishon’s site to have access to buying them… but I have such access.  They’re a little more expensive than the iDrive, but still less than $40.

DTG S2 Pro 20150329_104603

These are Diamond Tour Golf’s S2 Pro, in 3H (20*) and 4H (23*).  The shafts are Accra XH105 shafts.  I got these shafts for a steal on Ebay as a pair.  I can’t find them anymore there, so if these ever break… I might be screwed.

My “holy shit” moment wasn’t a drive, or a stinger 3w… it was a 235 yard shot on a par 5 that got me onto the green in two.  I hit it with the 3H.  The shot was about 20y farther than my average.  And yes… I two-putted for birdie.

Irons and Wedges:

Acer XF Pro and Ray Cook

The irons are Acer (Hireko Golf) XF Pro, 5-PW.  The wedges are Reid Lockhart (52, 56, 60).

Shafts in the XF’s are Apollo CWS; for the RL’s, they’re FST Hi-Rev wedge shafts.

I really like the CWS’s.  They feel responsive, and are heavy without feeling overbearing.  They’re $12/per, much less than those from TT/PX, KBS, etc.  They’re also .355″ (I use brass shims).

Acer iSight San Miguel Super Stroke 3.0

The putter’s an Acer iSight San Miguel, with an Apollo Standard Stepless shaft and Super Stroke Midnight (silver/black) 3.0 grip.

I can’t say enough about the putter.  I love the look and feel of the head (even though it’s made of 431 stainless and not a carbon steel.  Read this before complaining).  I’m in love with the Super Stroke 3.0’s.  I had one last year, white and red, but in my opinion the black and silver looks awesome.

Anyone out there want to share their “what’s in my bag?” stories?  Enter ’em in the comments section!
